About this research
This data brief presents results from a five-wave longitudinal survey of 7,659 U.S. adults, fielded via an online panel between June 2023 and June 2024, tracking how Americans’ views on election integrity and political violence shifted over the election cycle. Weighted to national demographics and 2020 vote choice (margin of error ±2.7–3.5%), the survey found that despite ongoing polarization, confidence in election security, opposition to political violence, and support for counting every legal vote all remained comparatively stable across the year, suggesting pro-democracy sentiment is more resilient than headlines might suggest.
