Reports 36 weeks of interrater-reliability data from roughly 80 panelists scoring political language — relevant for practitioners assessing the measurement rigor behind the Dignity Index.
About this research
This is UNITE’s own evaluation, conducted with More in Common and ROI Rocket, of the measurement reliability behind its Dignity Index tool. Over 36 weeks during the 2024 election season, roughly 80 demographically representative panelists scored more than 19,000 political statements for dignity versus contempt, and interrater-reliability statistics showed high agreement among scorers (92% majority alignment, with only about 3% of scores showing signs of partisan bias). The report also found a stabilizing effect on panelists’ own attitudes toward treating political opponents with dignity over time.
